Indian Railways is the most preferred mode of transportation for people in the country, and the trains are always in great demand even though many low-cost airlines are offering services. In order to make ticket booking simple, IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, launched the online booking of tickets. On the IRCTC re login page, you can search any detail regarding the trains.
The website provides all details like the train availability, route map, schedules, seat availability, prices of tickets and PNR status that you can refer them anytime. By giving the name or code number of the train you will get the seat availability in the train in each class, along with the ticket fares. To check trains running on a particular route, all you need to do is to give the source and destination stations, and you will get a list of all the trains running on that route.
When you book online, you will get e-ticket, and you have to take a printout of it and carry it with you when you travel in the train. There is also the option to get i-ticket, or the normal ticket. It will be sent to you on the address provided and reach you within two or three days.
If you want to cancel your ticket, you can do that also on the IRCTC login page. The cancellation of tickets up to 30 days after the journey allows you to get a refund on the ticket. If it is done after 30 days, you will not get any refund. The refund is credited in your account within a few days.
